AeroCom

-> Aerosol Comparisons between Observations and Models

?

Formatting tools

nco reformatting tools exist for all participating models. (available on demand and some examples are put <here)

We recommend nco to handle variables in the netCDF files, eg to recompute and rename data. (4 Byte per data / single precision )

We suggest further to use CMOR to rewrite model output prior to submitting results.
This has been first used in connection with the HTAP-AeroCom experiments. See the HTAP model output specifications: here. CMOR requires tables containing project related information on experiments and variables. The tables used for the HTAP experiments are to be found <here.

We also suggest to use standard names as netCDF attributes for unique identification of model parameters.
