AeroCom aerosol emission datasets

AeroCom phase III => HTAP_v2 emissions

For AeroCom phase III experiments the newes emission dataset for the years 2008 and 2010 is the HTAP_v2 emission dataset (note this is a substantial 2013 update of the HTAP_v1 emissions)

emission overview

AEROCOM-II ACCMIP

A second version of the AEROCOM hindcast source files have been prepared by Angelika Heil, Martin Schultz and colleagues. (August 2011)

See for details on authorship and where to retrieve the files the README file

Emission files and more documentation are stored here: ../DATA/download/emissions/AEROCOM-II-ACCMIP/

AEROCOM-II HCA0 v1/v2

The AEROCOM hindcast source files have been prepared by Thomas Diehl, NASA Goddard, and colleagues.

See for details on authorship and where to retrieve the files the README file

Emission files are stored here: ../DATA/download/emissions/AEROCOM_HC/ or are accessible via the AeroCom server

Emission files of version 2 are stored here: ../DATA/download/emissions/AEROCOM_HC2/ or are accessible via the AeroCom server

ACCMIP

ACCMIP (Aerosol Chemistry Climate Model Intercomparison Project) emissions.
The 5th IPCC assessment report has generated a joint effort for a new set of emissions prepared for historic anthropogenic emissions consistent for aerosols and reactive gases, prepared by JF Lamarque and colleagues. Please contact Jean Francois Lamarque (lamar AT ucar.edu) to get further release notes. See also Granier et al. (2011) Climatic Change and GEIA portal

Recent release notes can be found here: Version explanations file

AEROCOM I

The AEROCOM source files have been prepared by Frank Dentener, JRC, and colleagues and can be downloaded via the download site at the Max Planck Institut in Hamburg: ZMAW - ftp server

or at metno: ../DATA/download/emissions/AEROCOM_B-PRE/

Please refer to the associated publication in Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics: (for pdf click here)

Wilson: Emissions of primary aerosol and precursor gases in the years 2000 and 1750 -prescribed data-sets for AeroCom, Atmos. Chem. Phys., 6, 4321-4344, 2006.

The emissions were provided to perform essentially two dedicated experiments:
AEROCOM experiment B for present day
( representing year 2000 )

AEROCOM experiment PRE for preindustrial times
(representing anthropogenic emissions for year 1750)
